Local weather – Planning your trip to Athens
There is no wrong time to visit Athens, but you may find certain times of the year more suited to your interests. While the climate is sunny and pleasant year-round, summer months are the hottest, with temperatures up to 40 C in August. This weather provides an opportunity to visit local beaches (about 20 km from Athinaikon Hotel) or the summer clubs on the coast of Glyfada and Voula, which feature DJs from around the world.
Of course, anytime is the right time to visit Gazi, the up-and-coming nightlife and entertainment district of Athens. Alternatively, embrace the historical tradition of Athens by visiting the old town of Plaka.Even the winter months are relatively pleasant in Athens, with temperatures ranging from 5 C to 15 C at the coldest. This weather is still suitable for sight-seeing and offers more of an incentive to take part in cultural attractions such as seminars, exhibitions and music concerts.
