How can i book a transfer?

Up to 4 persons you can book online , the system accepts all major credit cards.  For 5+ persons please send us a message providing your flight details, amount of persons and time of arrival for a mini bus offer - keep in mind 2 way transfers come cheaper!

Do you have luggage storage?

Yes we do for a few hours or even a few days if you plan to travel and dont want to carry all bags with you. This service is free of charge, please ask our reception desk for quantity.

Baby cots – extra beds

We do have baby cots and extra beds. It is best to contact us before booking to check availability and room arrangements.

Is there Wifi access?

Of course! Free wifi in rooms and public areas recently upgraded to 50Mbps VDSL connection and new equipment for even faster internet.

What do your rooms offer?

All rooms are standard basic types, some rooms are on the streetside and some in the rear, regardless all rooms offer private bathroom, satellite television, air conditioning and heating, free wireless internet-VDSL connection, direct-dial telephone, wake-up service. From our front desk you can also find irons, water boilers, scales and hairdryers, you can visit our room & rates page for more details.

Do you have parking?

Not on site, but we do have special hotel rates for our guests with parking spaces close by starting from 5€ per day. Keep in mind street parking is also an option but most streets have a parking payment sign so you will need to purchase parking tickets renewing  during the day.


Breakfast is served at our partner Arion and charged at 6€ per person, rich buffet type including cakes, croissant, sausages, cheese, yogurt, orange juice, eggs, marmelade, honey, cerial, milk, coffee-tea, 2 types of bread.

Do you allow pets?

Unfortunately not, although we do love pets and are pet owners the space is limited and not possible to accept pets.

What do i need for check-in?

You will only need a government-issued ID  or driving license or passport and your booking details in case the booking is made from a booking site.

How can I find the hotel?

The Athinaikon is easily accessible from the airport, port, train and bus stations. The hotel is in the center of Athens, Monastiraki station is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Children policy

All children are welcome. All children under 5 years can stay free sharing existing beds. Baby cots are free of charge and available upon request. Extra beds are charged 12€ and room upgrade if possible.

What roomtypes do you have?

The Athinaikon consists of 26 rooms including singles, doubles/twins, triples and four-person, family-sized rooms  -  details of our roomtypes in our  room & rate page.


When making a booking will my credit card be charged?

No charge is made selecting a room with free cancellation rate, non refundable-prepaid bookings are fully charged the total booking amount in advance.

What if i have a late check-in?

Our reception is open 24 hours, our staff will be waiting for you even if your check-in is late. Keep in mind the metro runs until midnight for late arrivals take the X95 bus which 24 hours every 30 minutes - 5€ per person or a taxi from the airport cost of 58€. Can I book more than one room at a time?

Yes you can book multiple rooms and roomtypes each time.

What is a preauthorization?

Preauthorization is a temporary money "hold" of a credit card, the first night is hold and is free again in a few days after block (5-6 days usually). Preauthorizations are made to verify if guests credit cards are valid, if the card has funds and is not fraud type. Preauthorizations do not show up on credit card statements but can be notified by banks via SMS text messages. Exact  date of a preauthorizations release can be seen in most ebanking accounts and services. All reservations are preauthorized except  non refundable-prepaid bookings which are fully charged at the time of booking.

What's the difference between a double room and a twin room?

A double room has one double bed while a twin room has two single beds. Booking our  double/twin roomtype means you will find one bedtype or the other, it's not always possible to satisfy all guests however we are able to help out in most cases you can leave a remark while making your booking. Please email us before booking if case need a confirmated type  and we will check our availability.  

What are non refundable bookings?

Attractive rates offering up to 30% off regular rates. Special conditions apply for non refundable rates full prepayment is required at the time of booking. The total price of the reservation will be charged and is non-refundable. Modifications are subject to availability. Non refundable rates can be are easily identified and are shown next to each roomtype in our booking engine as non refundable or prepaid.

Why has my credit card been declined?

Reasons why your credit card can be declined are

  1. The card is blocked for overseas use.
  2. The card is not a supported type, our booking engine supports Visa, Mastercard, Diners, Discovery, JCP, AMEX.
  3. The selected amount exceeds your credit cards limit.
  4. Wrong submited details such as CVC code (3 or 4 digits on the back), expire date, card number etc.
  5. The credit card has expired.

In case a transaction is declined we notify our guests allowing a 24-48h period to fix the problem even replacing with a new card.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can select 24 hour free cancellation rates or discounted prepaid rates. For best rates online dont forget to visit our online booking engine  we guarrantee money back if you find a price difference plus 10% discount for 2+ night stays!

Free cancellation plan

  • With free cancellation it is possible to cancel up to 24 hours prior to arrival 12.00 local time (GMT +2.00) without penalty -  If cancelled later or in case of a no-show 100% of the first night will be charged to your credit card and the room is open for sale.

Non refundable prepaid plan

  • Non refundable discounted rates offer very attractive rate discounts ideal for fixed plans but special conditions do apply, full prepayment is required at the time of booking, modification of dates are subject to availability, these rates are non refundable and cannot be cancelled free.

Do you offer special discounts (airlines employees, colleagues etc)

All discount and best available rates are available in our booking engine, therefore no further discount is possible.

I do not have a credit card. Can I still book a room?

Ιn case you don't have a credit card alternatively a bank transfer can be made, it takes 2-3 working days for the payment to be in our account. Bank charges apply for overseas transfers of 3€. In case you dont have a credit card first please search for availability online and then contact us  with your reservation details we will provide our bank details and proceed your reservation manually.
